News » Barrett: Walker responsible for job losses
Apr. 26, 2012 One of the front-runners in the recall race for governor says recent federal jobs numbers are Governor Walker's responsibility.
Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett was in Green Bay yesterday afternoon to visit a manufacturing company.
He says figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics put Wisconsin at the bottom for job creation over a 12-month period from March of last year to last month.
During those 12 months, the state lost 20,900 public and private sector positions.
Barrett says that comes after Governor Walker made a specific campaign pledge to create 250,000 private sector jobs, and he's going to hold Walker accountable for that.
Barrett will face former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk, Secretary of State Doug La Follette, and Senator Kathleen Vinehout in the Democratic primary on May 8.
The party's nominee will meet Governor Walker in the June 5 recall election. |
