News » Father of murder victim touts victims' rights

Apr. 26, 2012
His daughter was killed nearly 12 years ago, and a Kaukauna man hopes other victims of crime are treated the same way his family was.

Steve Van Dyn Hoven spoke this morning, at a ceremony marking Crime Victims Rights Week. He says people need to know their rights.

Van Dyn Hoven says he can't imagine going through what they did, without the help of Outagamie County victim witness coordinator Stephanie Jens.

His 19-year-old daughter Shanna was stabbed to death in 2000, while she was jogging.

Outagamie County Executive Tom Nelson issued a proclamation during this morning's ceremony at the county's justice center.
