A number of local leaders urged a state panel to do something about Valley Transit's funding.
A transportation panel made up of lawmakers and stakeholders met at Fox Valley Technical College yesterday.
The bus system is going to lose $1.5 million in federal funding, if there aren't changes at the federal level, and the state hasn't found a solution either.
Valley Transit general manager Deborah Wetter says they can't just absorb that kind of cut.
The legislative session is over for the year, and Wetter says Sen. Mike Ellis of Neenah will propose a Regional Transit Authority next year, if there isn't a federal fix. |
