News » DOJ boosts focus on consumer protection
Apr. 30, 2012 The head of the state justice department is stepping up its consumer protection efforts.
Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen says he's going to use money from the federal mortgage fraud settlement to pursue fraud and anti-trust cases. He says it's part of a new consumer protection and anti-trust unit.
Van Hollen says the department of consumer protection forwards cases to the justice department, after that agency investigates complaints from people. |
