News » Text messages added to no call list
Apr. 30, 2012 A new law is cracking down on unsolicited text messages.
State consumer protection department administrator Sandy Chalmers says it's actually an extension of the existing telemarketer no call law.
Chalmers says many companies were trying to get around the no call law, by texting. She says many of the offers are fraudulant, and depending on a customer's plan, some people have to pay for incoming text messages.
Chalmers says if you are already on the no call list, the restrictions will automatically extend to texting. |
