News » Walker shatters fundraising records
May 1, 2012 Governor Walker shattered state fundraising records by collecting more than $13 million during the first quarter of the year.
Candidates in the recall elections had to file their finance reports yesterday.
On the Democratic side, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett collected about $830,000, and former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk brought in nearly $1 million.
Jay Heck of the government watchdog group Common Cause says more money will certainly flow to the Democratic nominee after next Tuesday's primary. He says the totals don't even include third-party spending.
Heck says since there aren't many undecided voters out there, the cost for each one of them might set a record for any election in U.S. history. |
