News » Metro police investigate string of break-ins

May 1, 2012
A string of burglaries is leading to a warning from the Fox Valley Metro police department.

Officer Jeff Steeber says a thief, or thieves, went into at least 10 homes in Combined Locks and Kimberly since February.  He says they're going in through unlocked garage and house doors, or by cutting off screens from open windows.

Steeber says they're targeting people who leave valuables in clear view of a kitchen window.

Steeber says one man walked in on a suspect in his kitchen, and the thief took off. He's described as a white man, with a dark hooded sweatshirt.

Investigators believe all of the burglaries are connected.
