News » Poll: Race for governor a dead heat
May 2, 2012 A poll by the Marquette law school shows the recall race for governor is a statistical dead heat between Governor Walker and one of the Democratic front-runners.
Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett leads Governor Walker by one percent among registered voters, but Walker is ahead by one among likely voters.
The other Democratic front-runner didn't do as well in the poll. Former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk was trailing Walker 49 percent to 43 percent.
Marquette political science professor Charles Franklin says likely primary voters favor Barrett over Falk 38 percent to 21 percent. And when "leaners" are factored in, Barrett has the advantage, 45 percent to 23 percent.
The Democratic primary is next Tuesday, and the general election is June 5. |
