Workers and their families at Thrivent Financial for Lutherans are participating in an annual project to send food to starving children.
Spokeswoman Jenni Eickelberg says they've worked with the group "Feed My Starving Children" for years. She says they hope to package 220,000 meals over two days, to top last year's figure of 200,000.
Volunteers work in 90 minute or two-hour shifts, and they set up in an assembly line to put together the food packages, and pack them in boxes, to send them off to kids.
This year, the food will go to Liberia. |
