Thousands of BadgerCare Plus enrollees are getting letters from the state, telling them how much their premiums will increase.
Department of health services Secretary Dennis Smith says the initial notices went out this week.
The premium increases will take effect July 1. Smith says DHS expects the majority of BadgerCare Plus enrollees will pay the new, higher amounts.
The premium hike comes after federal officials approved plans by the Walker administration to cut Medicaid program costs. About 17,000 are expected to either reject the higher costs, or be turned away from BadgerCare Plus. |
