Highway 41 is supposed to become an Interstate in two years, and the DOT is trying to come up with a name.
Project manager Tammy Rabe says they might not be able to use I-41, because of the potential for confusion with U.S. Highway 41. She says they're exploring possibilities that branch off of I-94 and I-43, like 694 or 443.
A group of state transportation officials from around the country has to sign off on the name.
Rabe says the DOT hopes to make a recommendation this fall. |
