News » DOT looks for Interstate name for Hwy. 41
May 3, 2012 Highway 41 is supposed to become an Interstate in two years, and the DOT is trying to come up with a name.
Project manager Tammy Rabe says they might not be able to use I-41, because of the potential for confusion with U.S. Highway 41. She says they're exploring possibilities that branch off of I-94 and I-43, like 694 or 443.
A group of state transportation officials from around the country has to sign off on the name.
Rabe says the DOT hopes to make a recommendation this fall. |
