News » Flooding concerns easing in Winnebago Co.
May 7, 2012 More than an inch of rain fell yesterday in Winnebago County, but it didn't cause any more flooding problems.
Emergency management director Linda Kollman says the rain fell gradually yesterday, so sewer systems, and local creeks and streams were able to keep up.
UW-Oshkosh had to shut down several lecture halls last week, because of flooding. Spokesman Alex Hummel says they worked hard to reopen the Halsey Science Center this morning.
There is some more rain in the forecast tomorrow, but after that, the National Weather Service is calling for several days of dry weather. |
