News » Suspected get-away driver in custody
May 7, 2012 Investigators believe they have the get-away driver in custody from last Friday's bank robbery in Sherwood.
The main suspect was a Calumet County jail inmate, and he's still on the run.
Sgt. Mark Wiegert of the sheriff's department says they arrested 50-year-old Ricky Rutkowski of New Holstein. He says they think Rutkowski picked up 45-year-old Jeffrey Lowery from a local hospital.
Lowery is less than two months into a one-year, nine-month jail sentence for identity theft and forgery. Wiegert says he had Huber release privilages, and went to the hospital.
Wiegert says Lowery robbed the Calumet County Bank, and claimed he left bombs at the nearby St. John's-Sacred Heart Catholic school. He says they put the school on lockdown and searched it, and they didn't find anything.
Wiegert says Lowery has ties to Chilton and New Holstein, but they believe he's in the Milwaukee area. He says people should consider Lowery "armed and dangerous." |
