News » Local doctor seeing obesity climb in Valley
May 8, 2012 A local doctor says a study that shows one-third of adults in America are obese, mirrors what she sees in the Fox Valley.
Theda Care Dr. Jennifer Frank says the number is probably even a little higher, because obese people are more likely to see their doctor because they have more health issues.
Frank says people in the Midwest like to eat, but it was different in the past. She says people are much less active now, especially at work.
Frank says on the positive side, most of her obese patients are aware of the situation, and they're taking action by eating less, exercising, and even undergoing bariatric surgery. |
