News » Walker supporters turn out in big numbers
May 9, 2012 Voter turnout for yesterday's recall primary was high for both Republicans and Democrats, and a political analyst says Democratic leaders should be concerned about that.
UW-Fox Valley political science professor George Waller says the primary was more important to Democrats, because they were picking their candidate to run against Governor Walker. He says despite that, the turnout for Republicans rivaled the Democrats.
Waller says Democrats need to get supporters to the polls in greater numbers for next month's recall, if they hope to beat Governor Walker. He says that will mean uniting behind Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett.
The recall election is set for June 5. |
