News » Recall could lead to split governor's office
May 9, 2012 Wisconsin is a very politically divided state, and depending on the results of next month's recall election, the governor's office could be politically divided as well.
Government Accountability Board spokesman Reid Magney says while candidates for governor and lieutenant governor run on the same ticket during regular elections, they're on the ballot separately in recalls. He says it's different, but he doesn't expect much confusion at the polls.
Magney says he's not sure why the legislature didn't include recall elections when lawmakers put the governor and lieutenant governor on the same ticket for general elections, in the 1970's. |
