News » FdL deputy discovers mistreated dogs, goats
May 11, 2012 A Fond du Lac County sheriff's deputy made a shocking discovery at a farm, while he was looking for the owners of a wandering calf.
Lt. Cameron McGee says Deputy Jim Pfeiffer found dead goats in a pen, he heard houling huskies, and he saw another dead goat inside the home on the farm.
A 10-year-old boy was the only one home and he was turned over to social services.
The owners were using parts of dead cattle to feed the dogs. Seventy-two huskies were rescued by the Fond du Lac County Humane Society. More than 60 goats were turned over to an Oshkosh farmer.
McGee says two dogs had to be euthanized at the scene.
Authorities are planning to refer charges to the district attorney's office. |
