Kaukauna Utilities is starting work on a project that will replace two aging power plants, on the Fox River.
General Manager Jeff Feldt says they're replacing the Badger power plants. One is over 100 years old, and the other has been in use for nearly 85 years. He says the facilities are beyond their useful life.
Feldt says the old Badger plant will remain standing, and will be turned into museum. The new Badger plant will be tore down, and the new facility will be built on its site.
The project won't be completed until the end of next year. |
