News » More police officers carrying video cameras
May 14, 2012 More departments are giving police officers personal video cameras that clip on the front of their uniforms.
Appleton police have been using them for about four years. Sergeant Pat DeWall says they're valuable in court cases, and if officers want to review an incident.
DeWall says Appleton has about 10 of the cameras, and officers can sign them out. He says they're going to continually add more of them.
DeWall says Appleton's cameras are about the size of a garage door opener, and an officer can turn them on or off by sliding their cover. |
