News » Economist questions new job numbers
May 16, 2012 An economic consultant says there are some indications that some jobs are being added in the state, but he doesn't base that on the jobs numbers released today.
Economist, and former UW-Oshkosh Chancellor David Ward says those numbers have not been verified by the federal government, and won't be in time for the upcoming recall election.
He says with tax collections are projected to be going up, and jobless claims down, its clear we have gained some jobs, but we don't know how many.
Ward says this has become the most important issue in the recall effort.
Ward says even when jobs numbers are verified, they are usually revised, so it's very difficult to pinpoint the exact figures. |
