News » Fundraiser tonight to help Kaukauna teens
May 17, 2012 A benefit tonight at Xavier High School will raise money for two Kaukauna teens who are lucky to be alive.
Organizer Joan Van Eperen says both families are facing a mountain of medical bills from unrelated problems.
She says 14-year-old Cole VandeHey became sick in November, and was diagnosed with Steven Johnson Syndrome, and lost all feeling in the lower half of his body. Less than a month later, his classmate, Jacob DeGroot had a traumatic skiing accident.
Van Eperen says doctors weren't sure if either of the boys would survive...so they are calling tonight's fundraiser "A Night of Celebrating Miracles."
She says they'll have a silent auction...a raffle, and a two-our show from the Saint Norbert College group Knights on Broadway. They'll be performing a show called "Random Acts of Broadway."
Doors to tonight's fundraiser at Xavier high school open at 6 p.m. the show starts at 7:30 p.m.
Admission is $30. |
