News » Police make largest heroin bust in Appleton
May 17, 2012 The Appleton police department and Lake Winnebago Area MEG Unit made their largest heroin bust ever, this week.
MEG unit spokesman Brad Dunlap says they arrested 20-year-old Antonio Moore of Illinois at an apartment complex in the 600 block of Briarcliff Drive, on Tuesday. He says they were investigating him for a few weeks.
Dunlap says they recovered 50 grams of heroin in the bust. He says that's a large amount, because the average dose is only about 0.1 grams.
Dunlap says the drugs were worth about $20,000.
He says the arrest could put a damper on heroin trafficking in the area for a little while, but more will likely be coming in from the Milwaukee and Chicago areas. |
