News » Man enters plea in Calumet Co. murder
May 17, 2012 A Hilbert man could spend up to 40 years in prison, for his role in a Calumet County murder.
35-year-old James Loewe entered a no contest plea yesterday, to a charge of first-degree reckless homicide for the murder of Joseph Baer.
Loewe and 30-year-old Robert Saurbier of Manitowoc are accused of beating Baer to death in March of last year, at a town of Rantoul farm.
Court records say the men beat Baer with a hammer, pipe, chain, and stick.
Calumet County district attorney Jerilyn Dietz says she wants Loewe to spend 40 years in prison.
Those charges can be considered when the judge issues his sentence. |
