May 17, 2012 2011 was a good year for the Salvation Army of the Fox Cities.
The non-profit gave its annual report to the community today. Spokesman Rob Waugus says volunteers donated more than $1.2 million to the organization, along with more than 36,000 hours of their time.
He says the food pantry also set a record by distributing more than one million pounds of groceries. Waugus says after several years of increases, the need in out community if finally starting to hold steady.
Waugus says they are still serving about 200 people a day during the noon lunch program, and he expects that number to spike once school lets out for the summer. |
