News » State Dems hoping for help from national party
May 17, 2012 National Republican groups have been throwing a lot of monetary support behind Governor Walker in the recall election, but Democratic groups have been sitting on the sidelines.
A spokesman for the state democratic party says he is confident that the Democratic National Committee will eventually throw its support behind challenger Tom Barrett. Graeme Zelinski acknowledges however, they have yet to get a firm commitment.
Zelinski says they need the financial backing of the DNC to support their ground game, but he says they don't need the tens of millions of dollars that Governor Walker has amassed.
The latest Marquette law school poll shows Governor Walker with a six-point lead. |
