News » Film takes on objectification of women
May 18, 2012 A group worked with students at Appleton East high school to draw attention to how women are often objectified in TV ads, music videos, and other places.
Katie Boulanger of the Women's Fund of the Fox Valley Region says the school hosted a screening of the documentary "Miss Representation" last night.
Boulanger says a group of girls at the high school spearheaded the effort to show the film. About 200 people were at the screening.
She says the documentary shows women are in positions of power and influence, but they're under-represented, because of the misconceptions. |
