News » Feds release job numbers for Wis.
May 18, 2012 For the third day in a row, there's a new report on jobs in Wisconsin.
The latest comes from the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics, and it focuses on the state's numbers from April of last year through last month.
The report shows Wisconsin lost 21,400 public and private sector jobs. The state was one of seven to lose jobs over that period.
The study includes figures released by the state department of workforce development yesterday, showing Wisconsin lost 6,200 private sector jobs last month.
The report also shows the state's unemployment rate dropped by 0.8 percent since last April. That put Wisconsin on a list of 24 states with a significant change in their jobless rate. |
