News » Absentee balloting under way for recall
May 21, 2012 People can start voting absentee in the recall race for governor today, but some of the rules are different than in the past.
Appleton city clerk Char Peterson says people can request an absentee ballot by mail, or visit their municipal clerk's office in person. She says the deadline for voting in the office is Friday, June 1. The deadline for making a request by mail is Thursday, May 31, if people are already registered to vote.
Peterson says the deadline to register to vote through the mail, passed last Wednesday. She says people can still do that at their municipal clerk's office, or on election day.
Peterson says the majority of people who vote absentee are going to be out-of-town on election day, but there are some people who want to avoid the rush. |
