News » DOT urging motorcycle safety after 21 deaths
May 24, 2012 It's still early in the motorcycle season, but 21 people have already died in motorcycle related crashes.
DOT motorcycle safety program manager Greg Patzer says that includes a fatal crash last evening in Omro.
31-year-old Ferdinand Nimphius was pronounced dead at the scene, after colliding with a car.
Patzer says bikers and other drivers need to keep an eye out for each other on the road, to keep everyone safe. He says bikers also need to make sure they are seen.
Patzer says more than 90 percent of the people killed in motorcycle crashes last year were not wearing a helmet. |
