News » Clerks seeing brisk absentee voting traffic
May 24, 2012 Local municipal clerks are reporting that absentee voting is higher than usual, reflecting statewide numbers.
Appleton city clerk Char Peterson says traffic has been steady for absentee voting in person, and the number of people requesting absentee ballots through the mail is also up.
Statewide, clerks have issued at least 90,000 absentee ballots so far. That's already more than the 68,000 from the May 8 recall primary.
Leaders from the Democratic and Republican parties are encouraging people to vote early. |
