Fire destroyed a house in Combined Locks late yesterday afternoon.
Crews were called to the 500 block of Biese Street around 4:45 p.m., and Fox Valley Metro police officer Jeff Steeber says the home was fully engulfed in flames.
The roof of the house collapsed, and Steeber says they're considering it a total loss. He says no one was home when the fire broke out.
A damage estimate isn't available yet. Steeber says investigators are trying to pinpoint the cause.
He says the windy conditions made it more difficult for firefighters to get the blaze under control, but they were able to keep it from spreading to neighboring homes. |
