News » Retired economist calls for early ed. funding
May 29, 2012 A former chief economist for Wisconsin says local and state leaders need to invest more in early education. Terry Ludeman worked under Democratic and Republican governors, and now he's retired.
Ludeman says the family structure has changed in the last 30 to 40 years, and more children don't have the support they need, because they come from broken homes.
Ludeman says when kids don't graduate from high school, they're more likely to become a burden on the economy, and wind up in the prison system. |
