Schneider National is receiving a national honor for its support of members of the National Guard and Reserve.
Mike Hinz is the vice president of driver recruiting, and he was at the Wisconsin National Guard headquarters in Madison this morning, to help accept the award.
Hinz says if military veterans want to become truck drivers, the company will give them credit for their time driving military vehicles. He says that puts them above an entry-level position.
Hinz says when employees are called up to active duty, Schneider National will cover any difference in their salaries, for up to 18 months.
It's the first year that a group called the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve is handing out the award. |
