News » USW official worried about Walker comment
June 1, 2012 Governor Walker refused to say he would veto any bill that would make Wisconsin a right-to-work state, and a labor leader says that should put all workers on alert.
Walker wouldn't answer the veto question during last night's debate, but he says the proposal wouldn't make it to his desk.
Michael Bolton is a regional director for the United Steelworkers, and he believes a proposal is just waiting to move forward if Walker wins the election.
He says it speaks volumes that openly anti-union governor Nikki Haley is campaigning with the governor today, and workers are taking notice.
Bolton says right-to-work states see a drop in wages, benefits and health care for the middle class. |
