News » Absentees may account for 25% of ballots
June 4, 2012 Voter turnout could be high for tomorrow's recall election, even if the lines at the polls aren't too long.
Government Accountability Board spokesman Reid Magney says a lot of voters listened when Governor Walker and his Democratic challenger Tom Barrett asked their supporters to cast an early, absentee vote. He says absentee voting could account for 25 percent of the total votes cast in the recall election.
The deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail, and to cast one in person, passed last week.
The GAB predicts up to 65 percent of voters will turn out for tomorrow's recall election. |
