News » Police plan for possible Capitol demonstrations
June 5, 2012 Police are preparing for possible demonstrations at the Capitol, no matter the result of today's election.
Madison police spokesman Joel DeSpain says they could continue beyond tonight.
DeSpain says they started planning about a month ago, for the aftermath of the election. He says they're partnering with Capitol police, UW-Madison police, and the Dane County sheriff's department.
DeSpain says there weren't any major incidents of violence during the massive protests that sparked the recall initiative last year, and police are expecting people to behave the same way tonight. |
