News » Senate races also on ballot
June 5, 2012 None of the races are in northeast Wisconsin, but Democrats and Republicans are battling for control of the state Senate today.
The chamber is currently split between 16 Republicans and 16 Democrats, after Republican Pam Galloway of Wausau resigned in March for family reasons. She was going to face a recall election, and Republican Rep. Jerry Petrowski and Democratic Rep. Donna Seidel are running for her seat.
There are three recalls targeting Republicans.
Sen. Van Wanggaard faces former Democratic Sen. John Lehman in the Racine area.
Sen. Terry Molton of Chippewa Falls takes on former Democratic Rep. Kristen Dexter.
Senate Republican Leader Scott Fitzgerald of Juneau squares off against photographer Lori Compas. |
