News » Appleton police ready if problems start at polls
June 5, 2012 Appleton police are ready to respond if tempers flare at the polls, or people try to campaign too close to voters waiting in line.
Sgt. Pat DeWall says no officers are staffed at polling locations, but they'll go there, if necessary.
DeWall says it's not unusual to get calls about people trying to influence voters at a polling location, but so far today, people appear to be following the rules.
He says even in hotly contested races, like the recall, people usually keep their tempers in check, while waiting to vote. |
