News » Professor gauges aftermath of recall election
June 5, 2012 After months of rallies, political posturing, and attack ads the recall election for governor is finally here.
Lawrence University political science professor Arnold Shober says supporters of Governor Walker, and his Democratic challenger, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, worked hard on the campaign. He says the side that doesn't come out on top today, will likely take the loss very hard.
Shober says he isn't sure if politicians will be more civil with each other, once the recall election is over.
He says a Walker win would likely have a chilling effect on future recall attempts, while a Barrett win could lead to more down the road.
