News » Prof reacts to recall results
June 6, 2012 Governor Walker won yesterday's recall race over Democratic challenger Tom Barrett by seven percent, and that's not too surprising to the chair of UW-Green Bay's political science department.
Professor Michael Kraft says even though that's a larger margin than Walker won by in the 2010 election, the Marquette University Law School poll predicted the outcome.
Kraft says the night wasn't a total loss for Democrats, because it appears former Democratic Senator John Lehman of Racine defeated the incumbent Republican Senator Van Wanggaard. He says that gives Democrats a one-vote majority in the Senate, and it limits what the governor can do before the November election.
Kraft says Governor Walker's troubles may not be over. He says that's because of the ongoing John Doe investigation into the Milwaukee County executive's office, from the time the governor held that position. |
