A large crane helped hoist the blades and top, onto an authentic Dutch windmill in Little Chute this morning.
Robin Dekker is the executive director of Little Chute Windmill Inc. She says the organization has been working on the project for more than a decade, and seeing it nearly completed is phenomenal. She says people can see the windmill in action in about two weeks.
Dekker thinks the windmill will draw thousands of people to the village.
Dekker says they raised $2.2 million for the project, but their goal is $2.8 million, and she hopes donations pick up, now that people can see what the windmill looks like.
The money will help pay for the windmill and maintenance costs. |
