News » L.C. windmill to take shape today
June 7, 2012 A 300-ton crane will help put together the pieces of the Little Chute windmill today.
The six-phase process starts at 7:30 a.m. today, and a member of the windmill committee expects plenty of people will be on hand to watch.
Secretary Gene Janssen says even after everything is in place, they won't be able to test it right away.
Janssen says they're making the windmill, using seven different kinds of wood that comes from Holland, Africa and Germany.
Main Street will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., so crews can work on the project.
They're setting up a webcam, so people can watch the progress online.
