News » Flag Day parade features fly-over

June 8, 2012
The country's largest Flag Day parade is tomorrow afternoon in downtown Appleton.

Greg Otis is the parade chairman.  He says it starts at 2 p.m. with a flyover from a Coast Guard helicopter.  He says there will also be a number of bands, and several military-themed entrants.

Otis says the parade returns to its traditional route this year, after making a detour the past couple of years, because of road construction.

Otis says the Marine Corps band from New Orleans won't be in the parade.  He says members planned on making the trip, but they couldn't get a flight.
