News » Businesses get boost from Dems convention
June 8, 2012 The annual convention for the state's Democratic Party starts today in downtown Appleton, and businesses are going to benefit.
About 800 people are expected to attend the two-day event at the Radisson Paper Valley hotel.
Appleton Downtown Inc. Executive Director Jennifer Stephany says they'll be eating at downtown restaurants, and checking out other businesses.
Tomorrow's Flag Day parade runs right past the Paper Valley hotel. Stephany says the convention could have an economic impact of about $50,000. |
