News » GAB leader doesn't expect more recalls
June 8, 2012 We had nine Senate recalls last year and six this week, for governor, lieutenant governor and four Senate seats.
Government Accountability Board director Kevin Kennedy expects recall fever to fade. He says the threshold to force a recall is high, and it's hard to get people motivated enough to put forth all of that work.
The effort to recall Governor Walker started with his push for curtailing collective bargaining rights. Walker prevailed this week, becoming the first governor in the nation to survive a recall.
Kennedy says forcing a recall isn't easy, and he doesn't expect frequent use of them in the future. |
