Construction crews put the top half of the Little Chute windmill in place last week, and the project manager says he's proud of their work.
Lucas Verbij is a fourth-generation windmill builder from the Netherlands. He says he came to Little Chute to talk with project organizers in 2003, and signed a contract in 2008. He says he's happy to see the project nearing completion.
Verbij says the windmill should be operational in about a week and a half.
He says it's built in the same way that the Dutch made windmills 400 years ago. He says they built it in pieces, in Holland, and they didn't put it together before now. |
