News » Lawmakers going to governor's 'brat summit'
June 12, 2012 Republican and Democratic state lawmakers are getting together this afternoon at Governor Walker's "brat summit," with the goal of finding ways to work with each other.
The governor announced during his victory speech last week that he was going to host the event at the governor's mansion.
Democratic Sen. Dave Hansen of Green Bay says anytime there's a chance to talk things out, it's a good thing.
Republican Sen. Rob Cowles of Green Bay says while it might not have seemed like it, the parties did collaborate on some smaller issues. He says they didn't generate as much attention.
About 100 lawmakers are expected to go to the cookout. Legislative staffers will be there as well.
