News » Hovde unveils economic plan
June 13, 2012 A Republican candidate for U.S. Senate says he has a series of proposals to turn around the economy.
Businessman Eric Hovde was in De Pere this morning, at Cleaning Systems Inc. He says first and foremost, the country needs to deal with the deficit by cutting spending. He says he would also repeal the federal health care reforms.
His proposals also include reforming the tax code, eliminating corporate tax breaks, working toward energy independence, and ending cronyism in politics.
Hovde will face former governor Tommy Thompson, former congressman Mark Neumann, and Assembly Speaker Jeff Fitzgerald in the August 14 primary. The winner will take on Democratic Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin in November. |
