News » Harley dealer raises money for injured riders
June 13, 2012 A group of motorcycle riders and a Harley-Davidson dealer in Fond du Lac are doing what they can to help the victims of a deadly motorcycle crash, and their families.
The crash happened nearly two weeks ago, when a 25-year-old Hilbert man crossed the centerline on Highway 151, and hit 10 motorcycle riders from Michigan. Two men died, and several others were hurt.
Lori Theil of Open Road Harley Davidson says a group of riders went to the scene of the crash, and agreed to store five of the damaged bikes, and the belongings of injured riders.
She says during a fundraiser last weekend, they also collected $8,000 to help cover some of the costs for families. Theil says bikers take care of their own.
Theil says a group of local riders will deliver the money, and a flag with well wishes, to Michigan. |
