News » Doctor supports new Pop Warner hitting rules
June 14, 2012 A local doctor says a change in Pop Warner football rules, limiting full-speed hits in practice, is a good idea.
Erica Kronke is a ThedaCare sports medicine doctor. She says many patients come into her office with broken bones, and other injuries, but the head and neck injuries caused by high-speed sports collisions are some of the most troubling.
Kronke says the problem has always been around, but more people are becoming aware of the danger.
She says scientists still don't know the full extent of brain damage caused by concussions. |
